Funeral services for Eldon L. Gohlke, age 74, of Littlefield, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, with Reverend Loren Zell, Pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield.

Mr. Gohlke passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 8, 2008, at the Garrison Center in Lubbock. He was born Aug. 16, 1933 at Vernon, to Herman E. and Christa (Hingst) Gohlke. He graduated from Littlefield High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 until 1956 and was stationed in Germany. He farmed southeast of Littlefield after returning from the service. Eldon married Vadarae Wille on April 23, 1983, at Williamsburg, Iowa. He served on several agricultural boards including Littlefield Co-op Gin Board, PCCA Board, ACG Board, Federal Land Bank and FSA. He enjoyed hunting, skiing, and fishing. He served as an Elder, a Trustee and was a Congregational President of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Vadarae Gohlke, of Littlefield; daughter, Heather and husband, John Scivally, of Shallowater; two brothers, Hubert and wife, Mary Helen Gohlke, of Farwell; Ernest and wife, Annette Gohlke, of San Antonio; two sisters, Gladys and husband, Clarence Hobratchke, of Littlefield; Edith Bourland, of Houston; two grandchildren, Jacob and Bryan Scivally, of Shallowater.

The family request memorials to be sent to The Lutheran Heritage Foundation, The Garrison Center in Lubbock, or the West Texas Parkinson's Foundation.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hammons Funeral Home.
