Ethel Mussman, 80, of Williamsburg, formerly of Marengo, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg following an extended illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Family Center in Vinton, where friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time. Pastor Carl Heck will officiate. Burial: Hillside Cemetery, Sheffield.

Ethel was a daughter of Walter and Ollie (Froning) DeVoe, of Elberon, where her father owned and operated the Walter M. DeVoe Lumberyard. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1944 and then attended Paris Academy in Cedar Rapids and became a beautician. In 1947, she married Donald Arthur Mussman; they were married 21 years before divorcing. To this marriage four children were born.

She is survived by her children, Scott (Vicky) Mussman, Terry (Penny) Mussman and Angey Alexander, all of Cedar Rapids, and Wayne (Jane) Mussman of Belle Plaine; her grandchildren, Ashley, Jeremiah, Brad, Wesley, Wayne Michael, Karris, Laura and Tyler; her great-grandchildren, Abbigail, Blaine and Noah; her sister, Evelyn Brockway of Brandon; and her niece, Mary Lou (Bill) Harrison of Urbana.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial fund has been established for Highland Ridge Care Center, 100 Village View Circle, Williamsburg, IA 52361.
