Gladys Dorothy Williams, 82, of 202 Eight Avenue, Hiawatha went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 8, 2007 after a brief stay at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral Services: 11:15 A.M. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday from 4PM to 7PM. The Rev. Daniel Krueger will officiate.Gladys is survived by her husband, David F. Williams of Hiawatha; three sons, Gary (Coralie) Williams of Hiawatha, Donald (Cheryl) Williams, missionaries to Leberia, West Africa, and Randy (Lisa) Williams of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Agnes Uchytil of Belle Plaine and Irene Kupka of Traer; one brother, Donald (Faye) Weaver of Inverness, Florida; six grandchildren, Spencer (Andrea) Williams of Central City, Brook (Casey) Rogers of Cedar Rapids, Justin Williams of Ames, Zachary Williams of Hiawatha, Nicholas (Renee) Williams of Cedar Rapids, and Anna Williams of Cedar Rapids; six great grandchildren, Chase, Olivia, Sophia, Madison, River and Paige.She was preceded in death by her daughter Christine Williams; her parents; two sisters and two brothers.Gladys was born December 23, 1924 in Chelsea, Iowa to Stephen and Anna Weaver. She married David F. Williams of Williamsburg on August 27, 1947 and resided there for 10 years. They moved to Hiawatha in 1957. Gladys loved cooking and baking foods from her Czech heritage, gardening, bird watching and being with her family and friends. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha.A memorial fund has been established.
