CEDAR RAPIDS - Daniel Paul Buelow, 50, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, in his home surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Private funeral services will be held. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Surviving to honor Dan's memory are his beloved wife, Amy; his children, Toby (Coreena) Kelley, Lawrence (Kari) Kelley, Kyle (Meghann) Kelley, and Jill (Ben) Parker, all of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Connie (Bill) Kammrath of Elmwood Park, Ill., and Ginger (Doug) Kohoutek of Swisher; a brother, Bob (Cheri) Buelow of Swisher; and grandchildren, Taylor, Chloe, Madeline, Dakota, Meadow, Aidan, Finlay, Devlin and Sophia.

He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bertha Buelow; and a sister, Marion.

Dan was born March 1, 1957, in Marengo, Iowa, the beloved son of Robert T. and Bertha (Meyer) Buelow. He farmed for many years near Marengo, and later was employed by Colony Heating and Air Conditioning as a sales manager.

He enjoyed golfing and traveling. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Dan's true riches in his life were his children, grandchildren and extended family who came to be a large part of his life. His family was the most important part of his life and Dan had truly touched his family's life.

He will be fondly remembered but dearly missed by those whom he left to grieve his passing. We live, we love, we teach, we touch and then we are called home.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cindy Stoddard, hospice nurse from Hospice of Mercy, for her wonderful care of Dan and his family.
