Williamsburg–Doris E. Keegan was born December 5, 1920 in Johnson County, near Homestead, Iowa, the daughter of Ben Franklin and Matilda (Wagner) Klenk. She graduated from Oxford High School and Mt. Mercy College with a degree in teaching. Doris was united in marriage to William J. Keegan on June 20, 1942 in Williamsburg. Doris taught school in Johnson and Iowa counties for 10 years until retiring to be a homemaker to raise her two sons. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She loved visiting with family and friend. Doris died Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo after a extended illness at the age of 86 years. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Fr. Joseph Roost will preside. Burial will be St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com under obituaries. Doris is survived by her son: Bill and wife Carole Keegan of Williamsburg; a granddaughter: Sherry and husband Brian Bayeur of Cedar Rapdis; a great grandson: Brendan and two sisters: Jean Hite and Francis Blood both of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1999 and a son David Keegan in 1993.
