Connie Sue Bringer, age 50 of Homestead, formerly of North Liberty, died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at her home. “She went to be with the angels in Heaven” after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services: 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 10, 2007, at the Amana Community Church, Amana with Elder Betsy Momany officiating. Burial will be in the Homestead Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at the Amana Community Church. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her husband Douglas; two daughters, Becky Demmel (Joel) of Homestead, and Jessica Orent (Josh) of Iowa City; four grandchildren, Kylie and Matthew Demmel and Cameron and Laynee Orent; her mother and stepfather, Frances and Marvin Stackhouse of Marshalltown; two brothers, David Crawford of Wayland, and Melvin Crawford of Amana; four sisters, Thea Walton of Iowa City, Bonnie Krogman of Marengo, Corliss Donovan of Iowa City, and Lyla Erwin of Marengo. She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle J. Crawford, and two brothers, Lyle G. Crawford and Terry L. Crawford.

Connie Sue Crawford was born June 3, 1956 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Lyle and Frances Amlong Crawford. She received her education in the Washington, Iowa schools. Connie married Douglas Bringer on August 9, 1975 in Washington, Iowa. She was a day care provider in her own home for many years. Most recently she had been employed in the facilities management department at the University of Iowa, Iowa City.
