Donna Jean Wallace 78, of 843 12th St. NE, died Friday, March 9, 2007, at Crestview Acres Care Center in Marion, following a short illness. Services at 1 PM Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Harlan Gillespie of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church will officiate. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after noon on Tuesday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include three sons Mark of Marion, Gary of Cedar Rapids, and Dwight and wife Jennifer of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002, and a son Kurt in 1993.
Donna was born June 16, 1928 to Ralph and Lila Keller near Kesswick, Iowa. She graduated from Ladora High School in 1946. Later she attended Cedar Rapids Business College. She was employed by Iowa Mutual Insurance Company, Wilson and Company, and Crescent Electric Supply Company before her marriage to Wayne L. Wallace on September 28, 1958 in Ladora.
After raising her own children she began baby sitting on a daily basis for around 20 infants and children in their homes for 9 years. Donna was a former member of St. James United Methodist Church and presently a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
Instead of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
