Glenna was born on December 28, 1912, on the family farm near Deep River, Iowa, to William and Anna Maria Kuesel Meyer. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She also received her education at St. John’s School. On September 27, 1936, she was married to LaVaughn Wilcox at St. John’s Lutheran Church. The couple farmed near Deep River and she assisted her husband with the dairy operation and was a homemaker. Glenna was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ladies Aid of the church. She enjoyed quilting, making quilts for World Relief, reading and writing poems about her life and for people who had anniversaries and birthdays. Survivors include her children, Lanny (Diane) Wilcox of Sun Rise Beach, Missouri, Cynthia Barrera of Grinnell and Linda (Howard) Huedepohl of South Amana, Iowa; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Fetzer of Williamsburg, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Ricky Wilcox; one daughter, Bonnie Wilcox; two brothers, Harvey and Roy Meyer; one sister, Esther Smith; and one brother-in-law, Leonard Smith.
