Marie E. Ehrmann, age 78, died Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the Middle Amana Community Church, Middle Amana, with Elder Betsy Momany officiating. Burial will be in the East Amana Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the Middle Amana Church. Memorials may be contributed to the Amana Sunday School or the American Diabetes Association. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by two sons, Paul (Susan) of Hughson, CA and Carl (Debbie) of Amana; a daughter, Kris Ehrmann of Amana; eight grandchildren, David and Bobby Ehrmann, Darcy, Carrie and Jacob Ehrmann, Nick (Lindsay) Kleinmeyer, and Kimberly and Andrew Kleinmeyer. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roy on June 27, 2006.

Marie Emaline Schaefer was born October 21, 1928 in East Amana, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Pauline Trumpold Schaefer. She graduated from Amana High School in 1947 and married Roy Henry Ehrmann on September 25, 1948 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Besides being a homemaker, Marie was a waitress at Colony Inn from 1947 until 1998. She was a member of the Amana Church Society. Marie was a “people person”, enjoying conversation with folks and always having the time to visit.
