Lois Ollinger, age 80, of Rathbun, Iowa, died Friday, October 20, 2006, at her son's home near Mystic, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Frank and Edna (Rumple) Begunck on September 14, 1926 in Marengo, Iowa. She attended a Rural Iowa County country school and also attended Carson High School in Marengo, Iowa and later received her GED.
On November 14, 1950, Lois was united in marriage to Evard Ollinger at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williamsburg, Iowa. She was a Nurses Aid for over 26 years at the Marengo Memorial Hospital in Marengo. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Marengo.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Evard Ollinger on October 25, 1990; and a granddaughter, Erin Ollinger.
Lois is survived by: her sons; Franklin Ollinger and his wife, Deborah of Mystic, Iowa and Leslie Ollinger and his wife, Linda of Grinnell, Iowa; sister, Mrs. (Charles) Ruth Hunzelman of Marengo, Iowa; grandchildren, Susan Martin, Steven Ollinger, Issac Ollinger and Kathleen Ollinger; great grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, William and Ethan Martin.
Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, October 23, 2006 at 11:30 am at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Ron Will, CPPS officiating. Burial will take place a 3 pm at the Calvary Cemetery in Marengo, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2006 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with a Prayer service starting at 8 pm.
Memorials can be made to either the Mercy Hospice or to the Garden Club in Centerville.
