George Reader formerly of Westchester

Services for George Reader, 75, of Boynton Beach, Fla., will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Road (at Stearns Road),Bartlett.

Born Sept. 26, 1923, in Williamsburg, Iowa, he died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999. Interment will be in Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.

Mr. Reader was the owner of Suburban Construction Company for 31 years. He was a 50-year member of the Masons and a member of the Shriners of Florida. Mr. Reader was awarded the Bronze Star for his services during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Reader (nee Tudor); children, Allan (Norma) Reader of Westchester, David (Mari) Reader of Dundee, John (Ali) Reader of Cary and Marilyn J. Reader of Hanover Park; brothers, Tom (Eleanor) of Streamwood and John David (Anna Belle) Reader of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister, Dorothy Davis of Iowa City, Iowa; and grandchildren, Rob, Heather, Kimberly and Christopher Reader, and Cortney and Taylor Pagel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday, at the funeral home.
