HOUSEL, LAUREN B., 83, of Largo, died Tuesday (Oct. 24, 2000) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He was born in Williamsburg, Iowa, and came here in 1984 from Springfield, Ill. He worked as a vocational consultant for the Illinois State Board of Education in marketing and civil rights. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served seven months in China. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Largo. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Margaret; two sons, David F., Tarpon Springs, and Lauren R., Fort Walton Beach; a daughter, Linda L. Jones, Alachua; two stepsons, William J. Boyer, Venice, Fla., and Charles Boyer, Jackson, Miss.; a stepdaughter, Gayle Olson, Palo Alto, Calif.; three brothers, Floyd E. Jr., Lexington, Neb., C. Wayne, Fort Lauderdale, and Dean R., Rialto, Calif.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
