Anna Ruth Garringer, 81, a resident of Living Center East and formerly of Anamosa, died Sunday, April 23, 2006 in St. Luke's Hospital following a sudden illness. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Turner East Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. William Harnish. Burial: Piersoll Cemetery, North English. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Turner East Funeral Home and Crematory.

Survivors include a son, Leo Stickley and wife, Gloria, of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Carroll Roberts of Anamosa; a sister, Charlotte Hoover of Anamosa; two grandsons, Brian Stickley of Cedar Rapids, and Jeff Stickley and wife, Kelly, of Marion; four great-grandchildren, Micah, Blake, Kia and Rionna Stickley; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dale Roberts.

Anna was born Oct. 1, 1924 in Iowa County to Oliver and Sadie Wade Roberts. She was a bookkeeper for Family Foods in Anamosa for several years. Anna loved her family and especially enjoyed cooking for the family dinners they all shared. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
