Faye B. Penrod, 69, of 1386 Curtis Bridge Rd., Swisher, died Saturday, April 15, 2006, in her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Services are private. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include a daughter, Tracie Homewood of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Scott Penrod (Rhonda) of Swisher and Douglas Penrod of Swisher; four grandchildren, Jason Homewood, Shannon Homewood, Kaylee Penrod and Matthew Penrod; two sisters; and her dogs, Tika and Pickels. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Quenton; and many sisters and brothers. Faye was born March 20, 1937, in Millersburg, the daughter of George and Cora (Sanders) Herdliska. She married Quenton Wayne Penrod on Oct. 24, 1959, in Rollo, Mo. She worked at Cryovac for 25 years, retiring in 1992. Faye loved gardening, being with her grandkids and her beloved dog, Bear.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Faye's name has been established.
