NEWHALL: Norma S. Weekly, age 73, died peacefully, Monday, March 13, 2006 at her home after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, March 16, 2006 at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating. Interment will be held at the Marengo Cemetery in Marengo, Iowa. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown, Iowa from 3 to 7 PM on Wednesday. Norma was born December 28, 1932 in Mount Auburn to Howard “Ben” and Anna (Froehlich) Staab and graduated from the Newhall High School in 1950. On October 25, 1952 she married Keith Edward Weekly and he preceded her in death in 1997.She is survived by five sons, Craig and wife, Lori of Vinton, Doug of Newton, Scott and wife, Mary of Chelsea, Brian of Newhall, Dan and wife, Joni of Atkins; one daughter, Barb Selk and husband, Craig of Van Horne; her brother, Berdell and wife, Joyce of Vinton; her sister, Selma Kaiser and husband, Glenn of Vinton; twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, her granddaughter, Melissa Oswald and her brother, Kenneth Staab preceded her in death.Norma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall, an avid sports fan and she loved flowers.In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
