Anna Lorna Kuhnle, 87, of Council Bluffs, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, in Mercy Hospital, Council Bluffs, after an extended illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Her son, the Rev. David Kuhnle, will officiate. Burial: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conroy. Arrangements are with Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Homes & Crematory in Council Bluffs.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Carl H.; children, Gerald A. (Judith) Kuhnle of Jefferson, Wis., Kathleen K. (Bart) Giamona of Lincoln, Calif., Dennis L. (Lynn) Kuhnle of Charlotte, N.C., the Rev. David R. (Eileen) Kuhnle of Honey Creek; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Faas of Hiawatha; brothers, David (Gladys) Williams of Hiawatha and Russell (Maxine) Williams of Monticello; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia Ann Kuhnle in 1962; and granddaughter, Patricia Clark in 1985.

Born March 29, 1918, in Williamsburg, Iowa, to Gwylam E. and Mary A. (Roberts) Williams, she was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. Anna was a graduate of Williamsburg High School. She married Carl H. Kuhnle on June 20, 1936. She retired from the Cedar Rapids School District as cafeteria manager in 1977. Anna was an active member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and belonged to several church organizations and the church choir. Anna and Carl formerly resided in Clermont, Fla., and were member of Woodlands Lutheran Church in Montverde, Fla. They moved to Council Bluffs in 2004.

Following burial there will be a luncheon at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. Memorials may be offered to Bethany Lutheran Home in Council Bluffs or The Lutheran Hour.
