100,000 Fire at Marengo

Marengo-Marengo suffered a $100,000 fire on Christmas Day. The Hibbs Clothing Co and the Henry Gode Dry Goods Co. were entirely destroyed, both buildings and stocks, Pouham & Havner office and library of attorney Gene Sullivan and the offices of Dr. Henderson and Dr. Reed were also destroyed. The loss is partially covered by insurance.
