DAVID MERRITT BUTLER
David Merrit, the seventeen month old son of Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Butler died Sunday afternoon, February 15, 1920, after a short illness from influenza. The progress of the disease was astounding in its swiftness; the child was as well as ever up to Saturday noon, when it began to show signs of illness. The best medical skill and nursing availed nothing in staying the malady and the charming boy paled and pined until death bore him from the bed of pain.
The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon and were conducted by the Rev. G. J. Schillerstrom, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, and the interment was in Oak Hill.
The bereaved young parents have the sincerest sympathies of the entire community.
