Williamsburgh Journal, Williamsburgh (Iowa Co.), Iowa, 16 March 1888, p5.

Mr. Roger Jones' residence caught fire Monday evening. The chimney is old and imperfect, so that the roof of the house caught fire. Mr. McKenna's little girl saw the fire when it first started and gave the alarm. The young men and old ones too responded promptly and the fire was extinguished before it had done much damage. Now is a good time for the Honorable Mayor and Council to move for the organization of a hook and ladder brigade.
