Family stories say that JW Reed opened the first bank in Ida Grove, Iowa. Can anyone confirm this for me?
He had married Mary Ellen Wilkinson of Ida Grove . Family is in the Iowa State Census 1895 with children Roscoe Conkling, Ruth, Mary (age 9) and Mary (age 7 who could be Rachel Mary). Also had sons Robert, Roland,Russell, Baxter and Renfield. J W Reed moved the family to California where he opened up several Banks. Any help would be appreciated.
