Carters in Ida County

My great-Grandfather Eldon Carter was born March of 1912 in Ida County, Iowa. However, We have not determined where exactly he was born in the county. My records indicate he was born in Ida Grove, but a cousin's records indicate he was born in Battle Creek.

Census records for 1920 indicate the family of Alonzo "Lon" and Lorena "Anna" Carter was living in Corwin Township.

Looking through the Ida county website I have noticed that Lon Carter was living in Section 4 of Corwin township in 1923.

Are the county birth records available online? Would a birth record tell me if he was born in Ida Grove or Battle Creek?

Also, I would like to find out how long they lived in Ida County. I know the familiy didn't arrive in Iowa until after June 1909 and they must have stayed until at least 1923.

There were 8 other children in the family that would have been school age.
