HOLSTEIN CENTENNIAL BOOK 1882-1982:

GEORGE AND PHYLLIS BROWN -- George W. Brown, Jr. was born February 3, 1939, in Sioux City. He is the son of George and Winifred Bracy Brown, Sr. He is a Holstein High School graduate and attended trade school. He was a member of the National Guard.
On November 13, 1966, he married Phyllis Cochrane in Cherokee. Phyllis was born June 16, 1937. She is the daughter of Tom and Rose Addy Cochrane. She is a high school graduate and attended business school. George and Phyllis have been engaged in farming. Phyllis has been employed as a secretary.
George and Phyllis are members of the United Methodist Church of Holstein.
To this union two children were born, Michael G. Brown, August 28, 1968, and Kenyon T. Brown, July 3, 1974.

ROBERT AND GERI BROWN -- Robert F. Brown was born May 4, 1942, to George Sr. and Winifred Bracy Brown of Holstein. He attended Mapleton Community School until the age of 10; then he and his family moved to a farm south of Holstein. He graduated from Holstein Community School in 1960. He now farms the family farm.
He married Geraldine (Geri) Klemme October 6, 1968, at LeMars. Geri was born November 29, 1943, to Alvin and Anna Heeren Klemme of LeMars. Geri attended LeMars Community School and graduated from there in 1962. She worked as a dental assistant in LeMars and later at Lutheran Hospital, Sioux City, as a unit secretary.
To this union two boys were born: Jason Robert, October 5, 1969, at Cherokee, and James Alvin, September 7, 1972, at Cherokee. Both are students at Galva-Holstein Community School.
Robert is active in Scouts. The family belongs to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
