29 June 1998ARTHUR, Iowa — Robert E. "Bob" Lalone, 68, of Arthur died unexpectedly Friday, June 26, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, Iowa, with the Rev. John Schauer and the Rev. Andew Currao officiating. Burial will be in Hayes Township Cemetery, rural Arthur. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. today at the Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Ida Grove. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Lalone was born Aug. 4, 1929, in Dunlap, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Minnie (Knutzen) Lalone. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He graduated from Dunlap High School in 1947. He then attended technical school in Wausau, Wis.
He married Karen Makowski in 1959, in Nashau, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He married LaDonna (Druivenga) Linman on Dec. 22, 1976, in Storm Lake, Iowa. He was employed as a manager of the E.W. Oates Lumber Company in Storm Lake and the Arthur Lumber Company. He had then farmed for 18 years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed woodworking, country dancing and camping.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Jodi Lalone Mixdorf and Mark Mixdorf of Stevens Point, Wis. and Jeannie and Brian Weir of Port Washington, Wis.; two grandchildren, Hannah and Zachary Mixdorf; a brother and his wife, Devon and Marlys of Storm Lake; a sister and her husband, Donna and Donald Bumann of Storm Lake; a sister-in-law and her husband, Carolyn Bieschke-Murphy and John Murphy of Denison, Iowa; four nieces and nephews; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Marsha and Joel Patterson of Grundy Center, Iowa and Patricia and Larry Wiebers of Schleswig, Iowa; and four step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
