Claude Elwood Richardson

Claude "Shorty" Richardson, 76, of Pierce City, died October 8 at his home.

Mr. Richardson was born January 23, 1926, in Ida Grove, Iowa, the son of Claude E. and Laura E. Mead Richardson.

He married Myrtle Aleene Davis on January 23, 1980, in Henderson, Nevada, and she survives. He moved to Pierce City in 1985. He had operated Shorty's Two Hand Store in Pierce City for 10 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pierce City. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 65 and Disabled American Veterans in Monett, where he served as chaplain for many years.

Survivors include several children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

The body has been cremated. No services are planned.
