(July 9, 1921 - March 10, 2013)Betty Booher, age 91, of Ida Grove, Iowa, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Morningside Rehab & Care Center in Ida Grove. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa, under the direction of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes. Betty Helen (McCauley) Booher was born July 9, 1921, in Lincoln, Nebraska. During World War II, Betty worked in a factory making bomb fuses to support the war effort. She was one of the fastest on the line and met her future husband while working there. In 1942, Betty was united in marriage to Jack C. Booher. The couple was blessed with two children, Diane and Richard. The family lived in various places in the Midwest, including Kansas City, Des Moines, and Marshalltown. After the death of her husband, Betty made her home in Ida Grove to be near her daughter. She became a resident of Morningside Rehab & Care Center in 2006. Betty will be remembered for her kind and caring nature. She enjoyed people and was always willing to help others. She enjoyed wine-making and even owned a wine shop in Marshalltown called Grapes of Craft. Survivors include her children, Diane (Steve) Wilkins of Ida Grove, and Richard Booher of Altoona; three grandchildren, Glen (Jenica) Wilkins of Davis, CA, Dan (Angie) Booher of Des Moines, and Tim Booher of Des Moines; and three great-grandchildren.
