Cave City, Ky. – Graveside services for Paul Ira Bennett, 61, of Cave City, Ky., formerly of Ida Grove, will be at 12:30 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2014, at Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery, at Adel, Christensen-VanHouten Funeral Home in Ida Grove is in charge of arrangements. He passes away March 15 at Medical Ceneter in Bowling Green, Ky. He was born in Mount Clemens, Mich., April 9, 1952. He lived in Iowa and moved to Cave City, Ky., to live with his sister, Barbara Logsdon, and her husband, Bob, after his health declined. He was retired from PPG Industries and was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Iowa Army National Guard. He is survived by two daughters: Lela Peters of Sioux Falls, S. D., and Sarah Kerns of Spencer; and three sons: Kevin Bennett of Sanborn, Richard Bennett of Hazel, Ky., and Keith Bennett of Sanborn. Additional survivors include 13 grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Logsdon and husband, Bob, of Cave City, Ky.; a nephew, Bart Logsdon, and wife, Debbie, of Glasgow, Ky.; and a niece, Jennifer Hay, and husband, Paul, of Horse Cave, Ky.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Fay Rigsby Bennett, on Nov 22, 2011 and his parents, Morgan Bennett and Alma Schalam Bennett. Condolences may be sent online to www.christensen-vanhouten.com
