Death of Henry Yule
Henry Yule, the Holstein man, who was recently committed to Cherokee hospital for treatment, died at that institution May 5. The funeral was held at Holstein May 8, Rev. Pruitt of the Methodist church officiating. The members of Alpine Lodge A. F. and A. M. had charge. Henry F. Yule was born in Rochelle, Illinois, February 28, 1860, and received his education in the public schools of Rochelle and Fulton. In 1872 he entered the service of the Chicago & Northwestern railway at Clinton, Ia., as an apprentice machinist, and later held the position of brakeman and fireman. In 1886 he was promoted to locomotive engineer, and for more than twenty years he operated some of the best trains between Boone and Clinton. In 1911 he moved to Tipton, Iowa and the following nine years he pulled trains on the Tipton branch. He was retired as a pensioner in 1920, having given the railroad company 47 years and ten months of continuous service.
