Miller at Moore and Christensen Funeral Home on Thursday, July 13, at 2 p.m. Mr. Miller passes away at his home on Taylor Street Monday, July 10 at the age of 90 years, nine months and 16 days. He was born near Monroe, Green County, Wisc., September 24, 1859. When he was five years old the family moved to Benton County and located near Vinton, where he grew to manhood and engaged in farming. He completed his education by attending Tillford academy in Vinton. He was united in marriage to Ada Usher in 1881. Their wedding trip was a journey across Iowa in a covered wagon. They located near the Soldier River, south of Battle Creek. Later they moved to Storm Lake and for two years Mr. Miller was a traveling salesman for the Singer Sewing Machine Co. Returning to Ida County, he engaged in farming until 1890 when he moved to Battle Creek and operated a livery barn.
