Funeral services for Mrs. Allen A. Mickelsen of Des Moines, formerly of this place, was held Wednesday afternoon of last week in the Presbyterian Church with Rev. Albert C. J. Kellow, officiating. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Mickelsen died in the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines April 28, following several months of failing health. She had reached the age of 53 years, 1 month and 18 days. Frankie Georgie Fouts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elba Fouts, was born March 10, 1899 in Bradford, Indiana. On June 11, 1920, she was united in marriage to Allen A. Michelsen in the Presbyterian Manse in Battle Creek, Iowa. To this union was born one daughter, Joyce, now Mrs. John Max Choplin of Des Moines. She made public confession of her faith in Christ at an early age in the Christian Church of Bradford, Ind., later transferring her membership by letter to the Presbyterian church in Battle Creek, Iowa. She was a member of the Battle Creek O.E.S., the American Legion Auxiliary, Women’s Society of Christian Service of the Presbyterian Church and Ladies Hospital Unit of the Shrine. Survivors are her husband, one daughter and a grandson, John Max Choplin Jr.: a sister, Florence Alexander of Ashland, Wis., a brother, Raymond E. Fouts of San Diego, Calif. These, with other relatives, neighbors and friends mourn her passing.
