Graveside services were Aug. 18, 2000 for Mary Ann Petit Johnson, 96, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Battle Creek, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Battle Creek. Dr. Herbert K. Johnson officiated under the direction of Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Ida Grove. Mrs. Johnson died July 22 at the Manor Care Assisted Living in Tucson, Ariz. Mrs. Johnson was born Jan. 13, 1904 near Battle Creek, the daughter of Jacob Christian and Gertrude Lea (Wolfe) Etler. She married Kyle Alexander Petit Sept. 22, 1923 in Battle Creek. After his death, she married Burt W. Johnson Oct. 19, 1961. Survivors include a son and his wife, Kyle and Kathryn Petit of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Petit of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
