(May 7, 1941 – November 23, 2020)

BATTLE CREEK – Private family graveside services for Mervin R. Weber, 79, of Battle Creek were held Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at the Ida Grove Cemetery in Ida Grove with Rev. Kevin J. Freese will officiating. Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Homes in Battle Creek was in charge of arrangements.
Mervin “Merv” Robert Weber, son of Everett and Ina (Douds) Weber, was born May 7, 1941, in Holly Springs. He grew up on a farm in rural Holly Springs and received his education at Holly Springs-Hornick High School, graduating in 1961. Merv then began working in autobody repair for a number of years. He was employed at Bickley’s in Ida Grove, Bart’s Body Shop in Battle Creek and Barry Motors in Danbury. He also drove truck for Hewitt Trucking and worked at Willow Dale Nursing Home/Hartley Memorial Hospital, Midwest Industries and, most recently, VT Industries. On Oct. 1, 1966, Merv married Ardis Jensen at First United Methodist Church in Ida Grove. The couple was blessed with three children: Julie, Lisa and Mike. They made their home in Battle Creek. Merv was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Battle Creek. He enjoyed being outside, tending to his garden and flowers, as well as caring for his pet rabbit. He died Nov. 23, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society-Holstein.
Merv was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Ina Weber, and a brother, Larry Weber.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Ardis Weber of Battle Creek; and his children: Julie (John) Feauto of Lawton, Lisa (Jeff) Mack of Holstein and Mike Weber of Sioux Falls, S.D. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Shanade (Brandon) Stevenson of Holstein; Christopher Weber of Canton, S.D.; and Jaden and Jori Feauto of Lawton as well as two sisters: Lynda (Jan) Hewitt of Sergeant Bluff and Chris (Roger) Jochims of Mapleton; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends.
