Don Siebrecht
(July 15, 1941 – December 14, 2020)

ARTHUR – Public services for Don Siebrecht, 79, of Arthur was held Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller with burial in the Odebolt Cemetery, Odebolt, Iowa. Visitation was at the church with Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of arrangements.
Maurice Don Siebrecht, son of Maurice and Gesine (Bruns) Siebrecht, was born July 15, 1941, in Ida Grove. As an infant, Don was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller. He was confirmed in 1955 at the same church. Don attended grade school and high school in the Odebolt area. He graduated from Odebolt High School and then enlisted in the U.S. National Guard. On April 2, 1966, Don married Connie Bieschke at the Odebolt Methodist church. The couple was blessed with two children, Paula and Aaron. Don was a lifelong member of United Methodist Church in Arthur and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller. Don was a farmer for most of his life. He loved to farm, as well as taking care of livestock, custom corn shelling and baling. He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, who always had a special smile on his face. He died Dec. 14, 2020, at MercyOne-Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Connie Siebrecht of Arthur; and his children: Paula Westphal of Battle Creek and Aaron (Lori) Siebrecht of Arthur. Also surviving are his brother, Myron (Bonnie) Siebrecht of Sioux Center; and a sister, Mary Siebrecht of Odebolt. Additional survivors include his grandchildren: Quinn (Aubrey) Westphal of Olathe, Kan.; Haley (fiancé, Dustin Schmidt) Westphal of Holstein; Erika Swanger of Battle Creek; Jake Siebrecht and Alex Siebrecht, both of Arthur; extended family; and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Gesine Siebrecht; a granddaughter, Hannah Westphal; and a grandson, Brett Westphal.
