Paul Raymond Striepe - U.S. Army, Private First Class, Vietnam
(October 2, 1944 - January 3, 1968)

Paul Raymond Striepe grew up in Holstein in Ida County and attended Wartburg College. He joined the Army in 1967 and was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry based in Binh Duoug Province in November 1967. Private First Class Striepe was killed by hostile fire January 3, 1968 while traveling to a forward base. His friends honored him with a scholarship at Wartburg College. He was buried in the Holstein Cemetery in Holstein.
