Passes Away Friday After Long Illness
Victor Gustus, age 69, passed away yesterday after an illness of several month’s duration. Mr. Gustus suffered an attack of the flu last winter, since which time he had been in failing health. Victor Gustus was born in this city in 1871. For a number of years his home was made in Oakdale, Ia.. Mr. Gustus returning to DeKalb to make his home about a year and a half ago. He is survived by one brother, William Gustus of this city and several nieces and nephews. The late Mrs. C. O. Larson of this city was also a sister. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Nelson & Ronan Mortuary, the Rev. E. W. Magnusson to conduct the service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
