Death of Two Sadden Cushing
Felton Lingle and J. A. Rekenthaler Mourned by the Community
Cushing, Dec. 23 – Felton LIngle, who lived in Battle Township, just north of the railway track, about three miles east of Cushing, died suddenly Friday evening, Dec. 19. He has been ill for ten weeks or more with heart trouble. His family and friends were hardly prepared for the blow, as he had seemed so much better the past two weeks. The end came without warning. A number of weeks ago, the men of the neighborhood met at his farm one day and gathered his corn.
Mr. Lingle was 38 years old and was married in May 1913 to Miss Anna Hohgrefe. Four children were born to them: Felton Jr., Sophia, Erma and Clara Lingle. For a number of years the Lingles lived near Logan Center, before going to their present farm. The funeral was held Monday at the late home by Rev. Landgrebe of the Lutheran Church at Cushing. Many Cushing persons attended and extended their heartfelt sympathy to the family in their bereavement. Burial took place in Holstein Cemetery.
