Victim of Auto Accident Buried
The funeral of little Robert Bevins, the victim of last Wednesday evening’s fatal accident on Moorehead Avenue, was held at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bevins, Saturday at 1:00 p.m., in charge of Rev. B. H. Coonradt, pastor of the Christian Church at Cherokee, Ia., the little body was taken to Cherokee for burial. The following obituary sketch of the little boy has been furnished:
Robert Wesley Bevins was born at Cleghorn, Ia., Sept. 26, 1923 and died at midnight at Ida Grove, September 24, 1930. Head Robert lived two more days he would have been seven years old, but as a result of being run down by an automobile, his young and promising life was ruthlessly cut short. Robert had spent most of his life in Cherokee County and while in the city of Cherokee was an attendant at the Christian Sunday School in the beginners and primary classes. He was one of the six children of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Bevins, whose name in order of their ages are as follows: James William, Myrtle Charlotte, Dorothy, Bettie Lee and John Thomas Bevins. These with their parents are crushed with grief at the untimely, sudden and tragic death of this, their loved one. Many friends and neighbors sinerely sympathize with this family in their great grief.
