S. P. Tunberg Dies at Arthur Home
Funeral to be Held Friday at Free Mission Church by Rev. Sodergren
Swan P. Tunberg, a resident of Ida County nearly forty years and a prominent farmer until his retirement about eight years ago, died at one o’clock Wednesday morning, January 29 at his home in Arthur. Mr. Tunberg has been in failing health for about a year, being afflicted with sarcoma in his left leg. He has been bedfast the past two weeks. Mr. Tunberg was a native of Sweden and came to America about 45 years ago, residing in Ida County most of the remainder of his life, his home farm being located in Blaine Township. He was married in this county to Hilma Lindgren, who survives him, together with five children; Harry C. Tunberg of Blaine Township; Hildur Tunberg at home, Henry W. Tunberg of Hayes Township, Herbert Tunberg of Blaine and Mrs. Hazel Soiseth of Sioux City. There are seven grandchildren and two brothers and sisters: Mrs. Fred Holt of Sioux City and Chas. Tunberg in Can Mateo, Calif. Mr. Tunberg was a faithful member of the Free Mission church, south of Arthur. The funeral Friday will be held at the house at one o’clock and from the Free Mission Church at two o’clock, in charge of Rev. H. E. Sodergren of Kiron. He will be laid to rest in Arthur Cemetery.
