Adam Miller In Eternal Sleep
Death Came to Him, While Confined to a Sioux City Hospital
Arthur, Iowa, Jan 22 – Adam Miller of Arthur, one of the pioneers of Ida County, died at a hospital in Sioux City Saturday, January 18. The remains were brought Sunday afternoon to the Amal Hemer home at Arthur and funeral services were held at the Arthur Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by Rev. George W. Dunn of Ida Grove. Interment was made in Ida Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born at Mondeta, Illinois, August 15, 1853 and lived to the age of 76 years, 5 months and 3 days. He was married Feb. 21, 1878 to Johanna Beohm who preceded him in death two years ago.
To their union nine children were born, two daughters being deceased, Hazel in infancy and Adeline Gleason in March 1928. The living children are: W. J. Miller, Innisfail, Alberta; Theresa Leslie, Waucoma, Iowa; Bertha Harting, Randolph, Neb.; J. J. Miller, Huxley, Alberta; A. J. Miller, Vancouver, British Columbia; C. F. Miller, Atlantic, Iowa; Louise Ostling of Lewellen, Neb. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and a great grandchild. Mr. and Mrs. Miller spent their entire married life in the Arthur vicinity, a span of nearly half a century. Since the death of his wife in November 1927, he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Bertha Harting at Randolph, Neb.
