Infant Son Passes Away
Funeral services were held for Wayne Petersen, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Petersen at St. Paul’s Lutheran church Sunday afternoon, with Rev. E. C. Zschoche in charge. Burial was made in the cemetery in Grant township. Pall bearers were, Milton Zobel, Vernon Ehler, Leslie Schug and Wilbert Ernst. Wayne Andrew Petersen was born October 21, 1939 at the Ida Grove hospital and passed away at 7:55 Friday evening at the age of 5 months and 8 days. On November he was received into communion with his God through baptism. Apparently healthy at birth, his parents learned from medical authority, when the lad was seven weeks old, that he had no chance to live, owing to an unusual condition of his heart. Hopeful to the last, they could see him growing weaker day by day in his hopeless battle against death. He leaves to mourn his untimely death, his parents, two brothers, Roland and Herman Jensen, two sisters, Evelyn Jensen and Sylvia Petersen, his grandfather, Rev. H. Schwenk and others.
