Henry L. Leget
(1849 – May 20, 1920)

Ida County Pioneer, Ida Grove, Iowa, Wed., May 24, 1920, p.1, col.3
Henry L. Leget died very suddenly last Saturday evening at 6:30 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James E. Moorehead on Burns street. Mr. Leget has been suffering from kidney trouble for some time and two days before his death was taken to his bed. He seemed to be getting along nicely, however and was expecting to get up in a day or two. He was stricken almost without warning while eating his supper and died in a few moments. Heart disease is supposed to have been the cause. Mr. Leget was born 71 years ago at Beverly, Ohio, and lived there during his early manhood, being united in marriage to Miss Naomi Lashley, who died in 1909. He moved to Iowa 35 years ago and located at Odebolt, which has been his home most of the time since. He has lately been employed in the lumber yard at Ulmer, Iowa, but failing health caused him to resign his position and come to live with his daughters. He is survived by the following children; L. L. Leget of Lake City; R. W. Leget of Sioux City; D. F. Leget of Odebolt; E. S. Leget of Storm Lake, Mrs. J. E. Moorehead and Mrs. R. M. Pike of Ida Grove. The remains were taken to Odebolt Monday, being escorted to the train by members of the I.O.O.F. order. The funeral was held at the M.E. church in Odebolt Monday at 3 p.m., the Odd Fellows being in charge.
