Mrs. Miller, 71, Dies Tuesday; Funeral Services Will Be Held Thursday at Moore Bros.
Mrs. Sarah Miller, 71, passed away at her home on First street, Tuesday, March 26, at 2:00 a.m. after an extended illness. Sarah Jane Shoop, daughter of George and Elizabeth Shoop, was born December 18, 1868, at Oberlin, Pa. In July 1884 the family moved to Ida Grove.
Married In 1884
She was united in marriage with Amos H. Miller at Ida Grove on September 27, 1884 by Rev. J. E. Boyer. Mr. Miller preceded her in death on March 22, 1920. To this union seven sons and seven daughters were born. Four daughters and one son passed away in infancy. Those surviving their mother are, Edwin, Earl, Walter and Russell of Riverside, Calif., Alvin, Lincoln, Nebr., Mrs. J. B. Waggoner, Battle Creek, Mrs. Clark Bond, Carrie and George of Ida Grove. Also one sister, Mrs. Dell Johnson of Arthur, and 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Miller joined the Presbyterian church in 1912. She was a kind and loving mother, who gave untiringly of her love and strength to care for her children after the death of their father. She also leaves a host of friends who will remember her as a kind and sympathetic friend and neighbor. Funeral services will be held at Moore Bros. Funeral home this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:00 o’clock with Rev. H. E. Whyte officiating. Interment will be made in the Ida Grove Cemetery.
