C. E. Cubbage, 83, Passes Away Tuesday
Clarence E. Cubbage, 83, passes away Tuesday morning. Mr. Cubbage had been in ill health for some time. Clarence Eugene Cubbage, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Cubbage, was born June 13, 1856, at Springville, Iowa. As a small boy he moved with his parents to a farm near Toronto, Iowa. On January 27, 1897, he was united in marriage to Retta Cope of Ida Grove and all of their married life was spent in this vicinity either on a farm or in town. Three children were born to this union, one of whom died in infancy.
Mr. Cubbage had been in very poor health for some time and on Tuesday evening, January 16, while eating his supper was suddenly sticken with what appeared to be a stroke. He passed to his rest on Thursday morning, January 23 at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 10 days. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, his two children, Mrs. R. M. Parker of Hartley, IA., Harold Eugene, of Ida Grove. Besides these he leaves two brothers, F. O. Cubbage of Battle Creek, Herbert of Kansas, one sister, Mrs. Laura Thompson of California, one granddaughter, Mary Louise Parker.
Funeral services were held at Hudgel’s funeral home Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. H. E. Whyte officiating. Interment was made in the Ida Grove Cemetery.
