Luke Daniel was the first baby brought into 1979 at Horn Memorial Hospital. The eight pound, one ounce and 22 inch son was born at 2:44 a.m. Jan. 1 to Fred and Angela Anderson of Arthur. We would like to express our thanks to the Ida Grove merchants who participated in the Pioneer Record’s First Baby Contest for the wonderful gifts Luke Daniel received as first baby of the new year.
