New Year’s Baby – Nicole Sue Davis

Ida’s 1982 New Year’s babe, who hails from Arthur, seemed to take her sweet time in claiming first baby of the year prizes in the Ida Grove merchant’s First Baby Contest. Nicole Sue Davis was born to Gilbert and Phyllis Davis at 7:02 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 2, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove. The 22 inch long girl weighed in a 8 lbs., 8 oz. She has two sisters at home – Melissa, 10, and Faith, 7, and also has three half sisters and two half brothers in Missouri. The Davises reside at Rte. 1, Arthur. On Monday the new mother was in the spotlight wearing a corsage from The Village Green. Other Ida Grove merchants who are presenting gifts to the new baby in the “First Baby Contest” promotion included Rupp Tire Shop, Galleria Portraits, Albrecht Pharmacy, Cozy Nook, Vera’s Bo Peep Shop, the Ida County State Bank, J.
