Charles P. Myers
Charles P. Myers of Ida Grove will soon be 88 years of age, having been born, March 9, 1837, in Laurens, Otsego County, New York. In 1878 he bought a farm, located three miles south of Ida Grove and came to the county on Thanksgiving Day, 1879 and this has been his home ever since. He moved into Ida Grove 36 years ago and lives in his pleasant home at the corner of Sixth and Barnes Streets. He had three living children, sixteen grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. He is the father-in-law of Ex-sheriff Thomas McLeod of Ida Grove. He joined the Masonic fraternity at the age of 22 years and has been a member nearly 66 years. His friends think that he has the record of longer membership than anyone else in the county and The Pioneer would like to hear from anyone who has belonged to the Masons or any other secret order for an equal or greater period.
