Ida Wolcott Passes After Long Illness
Old Resident Called by Death Sunday Night; Funeral Held Monday
Miss Ida Wolcott, who had been in poor health for the past few years and who had been much worse the last two weeks, passed away at her home here Sunday, March 2nd.
Obituary
Ida Ann Wolcott was born at Northfield, Vermont, June 29, 1856. Her parents, S. A. and Louisa A. Wolcott, preceded her to the grave several years ago. She has one sister, Mrs. George F. Root, of Wetaskiwin, Alberta [Canada]. Also three brothers, M. D. Wolcott of Rockwell, Iowa; E. O. and S. A. Wolcott of Gilmore City, besides several nieces and nephews. When three years of age she came with her parents to Dubuque, Iowa, and lived there about thirty years. She was of a retiring disposition and mingled very little in public and social life. She had been in ill health for the last few years and recently grew worse and passed peacefully to rest March 2, 1930. The funeral occurred from the home of her brother, S. A. Wolcott, north of town, last Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Charles H. Flesher. Interment was made in Marble Valley Cemetery.
