Funeral services for Mrs. Hannah Gunderson, 85, of Bode were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 13, at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode. Interment was in the church cemetery with Schellhammer Funeral Home of West Bend in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Gunderson died Friday morning, May 10 at the Sisson Nursing Home in Humboldt, following a lingering illness.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Levy Sween and Mrs. Melvin Olson, both of Bode; Mrs. Don Kullberg of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Arlene Keating of El Cerrito, California, and Mrs. Blanch Christenson of Iowa Falls; five sons, Gilbert of Carroll, Chester of Belmond, Clarence of Ottosen, Harland and LeRoy, both of Fort Dodge; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren; also three sisters, Mrs. Mary Christopher of Ottawa, Illinois, Mrs. Hilda Hanson of Parker, South Dakota, and Mrs. Mabel Sween of Viburg, South Dakota.
Born in Norway, Mrs. Gunderson came to this country about 1886 to the Bode area. She married Mads Gunderson in 1899 at Bode, and the couple farmed. Mr. Gunderson died in 1956.
