Mrs. Belle J. Lund, daughter of Nels [Nils] and Serine Dryland Risdall was born Oct. 1, 1887, at Newhall, la. She received her education and was baptized and confirmed at Newhall.

Her family moved to the Thor area when she was 14. On April 14, 1908, she and Helge Lund were united in marriage at her home. They farmed near Thor until Mr. Lund's death in 1957. Belle moved to Thor in 1961.

Belle died Sunday, Nov. 26, 1978, at the Humboldt Hospital at the-age of 91.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, three sons: Norris, Nellard and Elmer, and a half-brother, Knute Risdall.

Survivors include two sons: Peter of Clarion and Harold of Thor, one daughter, Iona (Mrs. Harold) Kvale of Thor, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 28, 1978 at 2 p.m. at the Thor Lutheran Church. Rev. Marlin Ingebretson officiated and burial was at the East Ullensvang Cemetery, Thor.
