Leo John Besch, three-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Besch of Bode, died Friday at the Kossuth County Hospital in Algona following an emergency operation for appendicitis. Gangrene had set in the ruputured appendix.
Services for the small child were conducted from the Bode lutheran church Sunday with Rev. Haavik officiating. Pallbearers were four young boys: Russell Monson of Barnum, Theodore Thilges of Whittemore, Carlyle Walkner of Pomeroy and Glenn Saxton of Fort Dodge. Burial was made in the Bode cemetery.
Leo Jr., the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Besch lived all his life in Bode. His father worked with a gravel crew near Bode. His mother was formerly Ada Monson, daughter of Anna Monson of Bode. Relatives who attended the services were: Mr. and Mrs. John Thilges and family of Whittemore, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Monson and family of Barnum and Mr. and Mrs. Millard Walkner and family of Pomeroy.
