Funeral services for Myrtle E. DeSmidt were held Monday, March 26 at the Lindhart Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Otto officiating. She died March 23 at the North Care Center in Humboldt.

Myrtle E. Lansing was born at Bode on June 1, 1908. Her parents were Ambrosius and Anna (Swensen) Lansing. She received her education at Bode and was a member of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church of Bode. In 1933 she was united in marriage to Devine DeSmidt and the couple made their home in Joplin, MO. Following her husband's death, Mrs. DeSmidt made her home in Humboldt and resided at the North Care Center for the last three years.

Mrs. DeSmidt is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Herman (Alice) Daarud, Forester, MN; Mrs. Vern (Ora) Ryg of Fort Dodge; Mrs. Keith (Florence) Haynes of Humboldt; Mrs. Jack (Doris) Paulson of Fort Dodge; Robert Lansing and Everett Lansing of Winchester, KS and Lewis Lansing of Rowen.
